NTU Special Educational Needs (SEN) Guide

Open NTU Accessible Education to find AEU support for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

NTU Accessible Education is the official entry point for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to contact the Accessible Education Unit (AEU), which sits within the University Wellbeing Office.

What is NTU Accessible Education for?

The Accessible Education Unit supports students with SEN on academic and non-academic matters. NTU lists Social and Behavioural Challenges, including ASD and ADHD, as examples of SEN. Students who know their condition as autism or Asperger's should check the ASD/SEN support route with AEU.

Use the official page when you need the current application route, support-service details or contact information.

What support areas are listed?

NTU lists several support areas for students with SEN on the Accessible Education page.

  • Academic assessment accommodations such as extra time and separate rooms for examinations
  • Advice on and/or loan of assistive technology and devices
  • Learning support such as notetaking and sign language interpretation
  • SEN funding support for eligible students procuring support services or assistive technology
  • Non-academic support such as on-campus housing, campus mobility orientation, career and internship guidance

What should students prepare?

The official page states that medical documentation and/or specialist assessment reports are needed to support applications for accommodations or support services. Check the NTU page before applying so you follow the latest requirements.

Who should you contact?

For enquiries, service applications and SEN Funding Support applications, the official page directs students to email aeu@ntu.edu.sg.
