NTU LOA Form Guide
Apply for a Leave of Absence (LOA) from NTU using the official application form.
LOA stands for Leave of Absence. The LOA form is the official NTU form you submit to apply for approved time away from your studies.
What is an LOA (Leave of Absence)?
Use the LOA form when you need an approved break from your studies recorded officially with your school, rather than simply missing classes.
You also have to email your course instructors and faculty about your leave of absence as part of the application.
After you email, you will be notified whether your LOA is approved. Most of the time, if your reasons are valid, it will be approved.
- Apply for an approved leave of absence from your programme
- Have your time away recorded officially with your school
- Use it for medical certificates (MCs) and compassionate leave
How LOA affects exams and attendance
Once your LOA form is submitted and approved, your absence does not count towards the attendance component of your grade when you miss that class.
- Miss a mid-semester exam and submit an LOA: high chance you can sit for a makeup exam.
- Miss the finals and submit an LOA: if the finals are worth more than 50%, you will likely have to dabao the module and retake it the next semester.
